As production was slowly coming back alive after lockdown, I decided to celebrate all the people behind the scenes who make the magic happen.

The Year in Costume 2008

At New York Women in Film & Television's Designing Women event, honoring hair, makeup and costume design, the Variety Ensemble Award is given each year to a design team with at least two women department heads. The video shown before the award is an opportunity to honor the designers and educate those who may be unfamilar with the crafts.

Since 1980, New York Women in Film & Television has been presenting the Muse Award for Outstanding Vision and Achievement to women who inspire us from on the screen, behind the executive desk or below the line.  For over 20 years, I have produced and edited the clip reel of their work that introduce their speeches. When the pandemic hit, we went virtual and incorporated the clips into the speeches for a seamless transition to a remote event.
